Hummingbird's Official Representative Office in the Middle East Selects NovoDynamics' VERUS™ OCR Technology for Leading ECM Platform

ANN ARBOR, Michigan, September 9, 2006 - NovoDynamics™ today announced a strategic reseller agreement that allows MGS to integrate NovoDynamics' VERUS, the world's most advanced Middle Eastern language optical character recognition (OCR) technology, into Hummingbird's enterprise content management (ECM) platform. Hummingbird, which serves over 33,000 customers worldwide and 90 percent of Fortune 100 companies, will use VERUS™ to provide customers with the most accurate means of extracting information from real world Middle Eastern documents. MGS is Hummingbird's Middle Eastern representative.

OCR technology converts images of typewritten information (usually captured by a scanner) into editable computer text. Most OCR software cannot effectively extract data from Middle Eastern language documents because the characters are connected to each other (similar to cursive handwriting) and the text can contain difficult to read diacritics (small marks added to characters to give them special meaning). Independent third-party tests show that VERUS™ extracts more information with greater accuracy than any other competitive product. VERUS™ is also easy to use and provides an application program interface (API) that allows it to be integrated into document management systems.
