NovoDynamics Releases ArborScript™ CRS 11.0, World's Most Accurate Middle Eastern Language OCR Software.

March 08, 2005
Ann Arbor, MI
NovoDynamics, an In-Q-Tel portfolio company and a technology leader in OCR and document exploitation, today announced the immediate availability of ArborScript CRS 11.0, a new release of the world's most accurate Middle Eastern language OCR solution.
NovoDynamics' scientists leveraged decades of experience in data mining, pattern recognition, and image processing to create a breakthrough product that converts Middle Eastern printed documents into computerized text. In addition to its high accuracy rates, ArborScript CRS 11.0 offers automatic detection and clean up of degraded and skewed documents, document sorting based upon language identification, the ability to discriminate between machine-printed and handwritten pages, and a new application programming interface (API) that allows third-party companies to seamlessly integrate its capabilities into their own document management solutions.
The demand for Middle Eastern language OCR technology has been rapidly growing during the last several years. However, prior to ArborScript CRS 11.0, the key challenge for customers has been the inability to accurately extract text from "real world" documents such as smudged faxes, poor quality photocopies, and documents with stains. In recent head-to-head tests conducted with degraded documents, ArborScript CRS has delivered significant performance advantages over competitive products. In addition to high accuracy extraction, many customers need the ability to efficiently process large volumes of documents that contain a variety of fonts, languages, and page layouts. ArborScript CRS 11.0's automatic document detection capabilities allow customers to perform large document processing tasks with little or no human intervention.
"We started working with NovoDynamics more than two years ago," said Gilman Louie, President and CEO of In-Q-Tel. "We are elated with the software products NovoDynamics has developed and very pleased with the way ArborScript CRS has enabled both commercial and government customers to efficiently manage and gain valuable information from large volumes of degraded Middle Eastern documents."
"This release of ArborScript addresses the feedback that we have received from our clients and partners, and provides a new level of flexibility that allows our customers to create innovative document processing solutions. We are gratified to see the high level of interest in using ArborScript CRS 11.0's new features to reduce the time it takes to analyze documents," said NovoDynamics CEO Don Garaventi. "Listening to our customers is a key priority for us as we continue to expand our performance and feature set to address the unmet needs of this growing market."
