NovoDynamics Announces the Completion of its Merger with Nonlinear Dynamics

March 19, 2001
ANN ARBOR, MI
NovoDynamics, Inc., a data mining and high-throughput synthesis/testing company, today announced the completion of its merger with Nonlinear Dynamics, Inc., an informatics discovery company. The merger strengthens NovoDynamics ability to provide unique, customized services that extract "hidden" value residing in databases. This technology is especially relevant to pharmaceutical companies seeking to enhance drug discovery; to chemical companies seeking to discover and develop new catalysts and manufacturing processes; and to companies in various industries seeking to improve e-business initiatives, such as customer relationship management (CRM).
The explosion of data impacting companies is creating an increased awareness of the significant value "lost" in databases because of their overwhelming size and complexity. NovoDynamics' data mining technologies provide the means to deal with these complex databases. The January/February 2001 issue of the MIT Technology Review highlighted data mining as one of the ten emerging technologies that will have "a profound impact on the economy."
"We're very excited about this merger and believe it will greatly improve our ability to serve our present customers better, and to rapidly expand our business with both existing and new customers," said Bob Saltsman, CEO of Nonlinear Dynamics. Don Garaventi, CEO of NovoDynamics, added, "We've known the people and capabilities of Nonlinear Dynamics for some time now, and the respective skills of each company are highly complementary. We will leverage these skills to deliver a unique, flexible, customer-focused service that will be directed to the client's specific value targets."
Nonlinear Dynamics was founded in 1997 as an informatics discovery company. During the last 4 years it has demonstrated its ability to apply leading-edge pattern recognition and data mining technologies to enhance product discovery for chemical and pharmaceutical companies, and to improve the performance of e-business tools such as CRM and supply chain management.
About NovoDynamics

It was created to improve the discovery and development of catalysts and manufacturing processes for the chemical industry. With the completion of this merger, NovoDynamics will focus on data mining, informatics discovery and high-throughput synthesis and testing technologies to enhance product and process discovery in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries and to improve e-business initiatives in various industries.
